May 2026: Agro-forestry-fishery exports exceed 30 billion USD
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in the first five months of 2026, agro-forestry-fishery exports reached 30.69 billion USD, up 9.2% over the same period last year. Specifically, agricultural products achieved an export value of 16.38 billion USD, up 6.1%; forestry products reached 7.65 billion USD, up 4.5%; fishery products reached 4.65 billion USD, up 10.6%; and livestock product exports reached 308 million USD, a sharp increase of 43.2% year-on-year.
By product group, agricultural products continued to be the main driver with an export turnover of 16.38 billion USD, up 6.1%. Forestry exports reached 7.65 billion USD, up 4.5%, while fishery exports stood at 4.65 billion USD, up 10.6%.

Notably, the livestock product group recorded the highest growth rate, reaching 308 million USD, up 43.2% compared to the same period last year. In addition, exports of production inputs reached 1.7 billion USD, a powerful surge of 83%, while salt exports reached 6.7 million USD, up 45.8%.
In terms of markets, China remained the largest destination for Vietnamese agro-forestry-fishery products, accounting for 20.5% of the total export turnover and growing by 28.4% year-on-year. The United States ranked second with an 18.5% market share, though its turnover decreased by 3.6%.
Other key markets maintained stable growth. Among them, the European Union (EU) accounted for 11.8% of the export market share, up 4.2%, while Japan accounted for 6.8%, up 3.5%.
