Russian importers are paying increasing attention to seafood supplies from Pakistan
With the support of the Trade Mission of Pakistan in Russia, Seagreen Enterprises (Private) Limited participated in the exhibition to connect domestic seafood supplies with local partners. CEO Asim Abrar highly appreciated the coordination between the Trade Mission, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, and the Marine Fisheries Department in accelerating market access procedures. Currently, 16 Pakistani processing companies have been approved for export to Russia. This is regarded as a strategic gateway enabling Pakistan to gradually expand its presence across the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), with an estimated potential turnover of $300 million annually.

Pakistan's Seafood Export Outlook: The first half of the 2025–26 fiscal year registered impressive growth for Pakistan’s marine fisheries: export volume reached 122,629 metric tons (up 19.1%) with a value of $253.24 million (up 21.6%). Frozen fish remains the primary export item, alongside consistent contributions from shrimp and cuttlefish. Although China remains the largest importing partner, tapping into the Russian market plays a strategic role in diversifying export destinations, while driving the entire sector to standardize production processes and enhance processing capacity in line with global standards.
