Pangasius prices hold strong, exporters reap benefits

Amidst the gradual recovery of the global seafood market, Vietnam's pangasius industry is recording numerous positive signals as raw pangasius prices continue to remain high and stable over a prolonged period. This is considered a crucial driving force helping farmers improve profits, while creating favorable conditions for processing and exporting enterprises to boost their business operations this year.

In many key farming areas in the Mekong Delta, particularly in Đồng Tháp Province, raw pangasius prices currently remain at an attractive level. This stability not only gives farmers peace of mind to reinvest but also reduces the market volatility often seen in the seafood sector. Following a difficult period driven by soaring input costs and declining export demand, the sustained positive fish prices are bringing a wave of optimism to the entire industry.

According to assessments from various enterprises, the import demand for pangasius in major markets such as the US, Europe, the Middle East, and several Asian countries is showing a recovery trend. Export orders are beginning to rise again, especially for frozen fillet products and value-added processed products.
