Sharing the Usage Duration of Broodstock Aquatic Seedlings
The usage duration of broodstock shrimp seedlings is crucial in determining the success of each farming season
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has issued a circular regulating the management of aquatic seeds, aquaculture feed, and environmental treatment products in aquaculture. It specifies the regulations on the usage duration of broodstock aquatic seedlings.
According to the circular, the usage duration for broodstock aquatic seedlings follows the corresponding national technical standards. In cases where there are no national technical standards, the usage duration is regulated as follows:
For broodstock white-leg shrimp:
- The maximum usage duration is 140 days from the clearance date for imported broodstock shrimp that meet a minimum weight of 40g per male and 45g per female.
- The maximum usage duration is 120 days from the date of the first reproduction for domestically produced or imported broodstock shrimp that do not meet the above weight criteria.
For broodstock black tiger shrimp:
- The maximum usage duration is 80 days from the clearance date for imported broodstock shrimp with a minimum weight of 100g per male and 120g per female.
- The maximum usage duration is 60 days from the date of first reproduction for domestically produced, wild-caught, or imported broodstock shrimp that do not meet the specified weight requirements.
For broodstock pangasius catfish:
- The maximum usage duration is 60 months from the first reproduction date, with a reproduction frequency of no more than twice per year.
For other types of broodstock aquatic seedlings, establishments are to self-declare the usage duration.
